So yesterday was a bust. I didn't do anything that I wanted to do. I didn't work out or go on a bike ride or do anything physical. I did proceed to do a bunch of baking! I made french bread and banana nut bread and all this not so diet friendly food. I didn't eat too much of it just sampled it.
Then I was too tired to make anything for dinner so I just ate left overs. I have no idea how many calories I ate for dinner but I know I had way too many carbs.
Today is a new day and I am going to try again. I will not give up. The one thing that gets me is the drinking. So I am going to stick to no drinking during the weeks and if I have a drink or two on the weekend I will make sure I work out.
So today I am feeling a little defeated from yesterday and my lack of physical activity the past few days but I am not giving up.
Today my goals are:
- To track all of my food
- To go to the gym and run 2 miles
I'll check in tomorrow.

Day 2 of My New Beginning
So today has been OK so far. I am staying under my calorie target and I am still very motivated to keep on track.
Yesterday I met my calorie target but my other small goal was to go for a walk and I did not do that. I was so sore from running the 5k on Sunday I could hardly walk! But today I am feeling much better and I plan to go to the gym or at least a bike ride or a walk with my daughter.
Wednesday I plan to go to the gym and work out - cardio and weights. I plan to run about 2 miles.
My goal this week was to go from 237 to 232 ob my weigh in next Monday. I know that sounds like a lot but I think I had a little water weight from a little too much drinking on Sunday!
Let's see how motivated I am and if I can keep this up.

Almost a Year Later
Apparently I haven't updated in over a year! A lot has gone one.
Let me start with I am no where near my goal!
I had knee surgery last October. That took me out for physical activity for some time. And while I could have still eaten healthy... I didn't.
Then my husband and I decided to start a family and in Aug of this year, I gave birth to the most amazing little girl. Now I am three months post pregnancy and I have lost all the baby weight, I haven't lost any more.
This is why I am here again.
I am going to start getting back on track again and I really plan to stick to. I feel amazing lately so there is no reason why I cannot start exercising and eating right.
I am using this blog as my own personal accountability. It seemed to work pretty well for me last time so lets see if I can get going again!
My current weight: 237
My goal weight: 180
My first mini goal is to lose 10 pounds by my trip to Vegas. We are going in about 4 weeks and I know that I can do this.
I will check in daily to report where I am at and how I am feeling.
Today: My goal is to stick to my calorie target of 1500 calories. I also want to go on a walk with Savanna. I ran a 5k yesterday so my legs are a little sore therefore I am going to rest today and go to the gym tomorrow.

Update?
Wow - it's been a long time since I posted on here! A lot has been going on and I decided to kick this blog up again.
First of all let me start with my weight loss progress since I started. In my first post back in July of last year I was at 248 pounds and my goal was to weigh 180. That is a very obtainable goal. Now did I make that? Ha! Not by a long shot.
I had a few set backs. I was working really hard and losing weight then I kind of tapered off. One of the reasons was that I had gotten knee surgery and I haven't been able to be as active as I wanted to. That is an excuse really, because I know I could have eaten better to offset my inactivity.
The other reason is currently because I am almost 22 weeks pregnant! My husband and I are so excited to have our first child (a little girl!) and with that comes a whole set of reasons why I cannot diet etc.
I am currently at 234 pounds. During my weight loss journey I got down to 228 pounds (lost 20 pounds total!) I was so excited about that but I had to stop the "dieting".
Now that I am pregnant I have to adjust my goals from "weight loss" to "healthy eating and lifestyle". This may sound silly because essentially if I eat healthy and have a healthy lifestyle I should and probably still lose weight. However, weight loss cannot be my goal right now (as dieting is not good for the baby).
Instead I am focusing on making the right choices for me and our daughter so that I can be healthy when she's born and be the best mom I can try and be!
So for the next 4 months while baby Savanna continues to grow - my goal is to make better choices about what I will put in my body. For the past 5 months I have done OK so far. I can do better for sure and that's the reason I am starting this journal up again. It was nice to have commitments to myself and track my success. This time my success just won't be on the scale.
Here are my pregnancy "lifestyle" goals:
- 30 minutes of activity once a day (a walk, bike ride, etc)
- 3 times a week of light (pregnancy approved) weight training (rehab on my knee and shoulder)
- 80% or more of the time eat clean (allowing myself some splurge room here)
- Do something relaxing for me once a week! (pedicure, bath, etc)
- Track EVERYTHING! Even though I am not dieting, I can still track everything and be responsible for what I am putting into my body
I will update one a week at least on my status. Then after the baby is born, I will take a look at my goals and adjust accordingly.

Mid Week Update 09/12/2013
I have been feeling a little discouraged lately especially coming back from Vegas and having gained. Unlike other times, where I would have given up, I have stayed on track.
As of this morning I am down 15 pounds! I am so happy about this milestone. The next big one for me is 20 lbs and then I will do my happy dance.
I have been working out and feeling good about the cardio I am doing. I am eating pretty well (with a cheat meal here and there) and the biggest thing is staying consistent. When I have a bad day not giving up and keep on truckin'.
By doing the above, I have been able to lose a healthy 15 pounds in a little over 2 months and I am not stopping here. I have another 45 pounds to lose and I know I can get there. It may take me another 6 months but as long as I move forward.
The below is so true. I am not using any magic pills, I am not doing a special wrap or shake. All I am doing is burning calories and have a little bit of determination!

Week 8 Results - 2 Months in!
This week I was happy. I gained weight in Vegas and when I got back I was so disappointed. I have been averaging about 1.4 pounds a week of weight loss and that was the first week that I gained. I was determined this week to lose the weight I gained.
I lost 4.6 pounds last week! I am so happy. I know a lot of that may have been water weight from the trip but regardless I was down the 3 lbs I gained and more. I didn't do too well on Sunday (football Sunday is evil!) but overall for the week I was consistent.
This week I plan to go to the gym at least 3 days. I have been feeling really good burning calories on the elliptical and it doesn't hurt my knee. I am hoping to drop about 3 pounds this week. If I workout and stay within my calorie targets I know that I can do this!
On a side note, I have to say I am really happy with my results. I am not on track to meet all my targets but I am not going to be discouraged this time. I am keeping up with it no matter what and even if I am only losing about 1.5 pounds a week this means I am losing.
It's nice to feel good about my hard work this time. In the past I have had a bad or "cheat" day and beaten myself up so much that I just gave in. Now, when I have a bad day, I turn that into a challenge to work off that bad day and get my butt to the gym and eat clean. If I can keep this up, I will meet my goals. It might take a little longer but I will get there!

Week 7 Results (though I'd rather not weigh in!)
I was in Vegas this past weekend and didn't get back until Monday night so I weighed myself this week on Tuesday morning.
I gained 3 pounds! I was not as good as I wanted to be but I wasn't awful. I did expect to gain maybe a pound but not three. I am hoping a little bit is water weigh and I just started my menstrual cycle and I know that can effect your weight too.
Regardless of what the scale says, I am keeping up with it. Back to tracking daily and making good clean choices. I am going to start back at the gym. I have to be careful with my knee, but I can get there and keep moving to help burn some extra calories.
I think the big thing for me with my knee is making sure I am eating right and trying to meet my daily targets. At least 5,000 steps a day is hard when I work from home and my knee hurts but I need to make sure that hit this. So I am going to start parking further at work and taking those extra steps to help.
I will weigh in Monday and hopefully be a little better off than this week. This is the first time I gained since I started so that is the one good thing. I know how to lose I just need to keep it up!
